Description
Linguine pasta is made of high quality, hard or hard-grain wheat called semolina. Its main advantage is that it does not tend to get overcooked. Its taste will be enhanced by high quality olive oil most. Put a lot of salt to the water when boiling the pasta. One tablespoon of salt should be added per one litre of water. Italians even claim that the water for boiling pasta should be as salty as the sea.
The name "linguine" means "small tongues" in Italian. The pasta is similar to classic spaghetti but it is flat and wider. Try to prepare it as a sweet dish with poppy seeds, for example. However, it is not very suitable to be prepared with oily and sparse sauces because they flow out from it and the dish is then not easy to eat.
