Description
Whole-grain penne pasta is made of high quality, hard or hard-grain wheat called semolina. Its main advantage is that it does not tend to get overcooked. Its taste will be enhanced by high quality olive oil most. Put a lot of salt to the water when boiling the pasta. One tablespoon of salt should be added per one litre of water. Italians even claim that the water for boiling pasta should be as salty as the sea. Thanks to the fact the pasta is whole-grain, it will make you feel full for a longer time than the classic white pasta.
This pasta has a very versatile use. It tastes great when combined with sauces, and thanks to its tubular shape, the sauce can easily get inside the pasta and will thus permeate the whole dish and flavour the pasta. Penne can also be used for baking. Its interesting shape will also stand out in hot and cold salads. And do not be afraid to prepare a sweet dish from it. For example, with ground walnuts, poured with good butter.
